After a little disappointed about the lack of visual aids in the “Guitar For Dummies’ book, I thought I would buy them because they seem more up to date what it is. . . It has many high quality images and photography, which is always helpful. . . But this is clearly the front lays is a book for beginners, but I must dissagree. . . From the outset, the author goes on about “Chords”, “Balance”, “Open Strings”, “Root notes” and “Barres” expects a “beginner” I like to know what he’s talking about without any explanation of what they are! This is clearly a good book to read, but is not very easy to understand, if you know nothing about music.

I first borrowed this book in the local library before I even bought my acoutic guitar. Was so impressed with its ease of presentation, which I bought.

The spiral binding makes it possible to be set flat on the music, and it is really suitable for someone who does not know squat about playing guitar. There are photo-graphs, how to play step by step. The buyers guide section is extremely helpful in helping identify the most famous guitar designs, like the Fender and Gibson – it helped me identify the guitars are used by YUI!

The virtue of this book – that it is intended for raw beginners – a limitation for those who want to understand better. In order not to overburden the reader, finger positions are displayed in tab only when leaves the chord library ouvert 4 Form F chord, the high at the first position.

In summary recommeded If you are new guitar, but you will need another book if you want a deeper understanding.

this book from the library. I do not know come from a musical family and has not even know at this stage who had a guitar, so it was only me and this book! I was a little overwhelmed by all the information and charts and the unfamiliar terminology. Then I got a guitar and a very simple guitar for dummies video. This video has the edge off my anxiety and was a very gentle introduction. I also discovered many people who were very keen to help me – neighbors, friends – it is curious how the presence of a guitar can bring people together! I then I found myself presented on this book, from intimidation and what is now exactly what I’m looking for simple and clear, except that he did not say what is the first string, the sixth, where I can be seen everywhere in the book, which is quite confusing for a beginner. I thoroughly recommend this book if you already have a basic knowledge of music and the guitar, or have the people to show you, the first foundations.
